Business owners plug hours and hours of promotional time into Facebook, Instagram and twitter. But, how many of you are capitalising on Pinterest to promote your online services? And more importantly, could Canva and Pinterest be used to help increase your blog traffic or business hits? Where is your blog/business traffic coming from? 35% of my traffic comes from Pinterest (second only to organic traffic from search engines). So, if you’re not using it, you might be missing out on valuable (and profitable) traffic. My website traffic now generates an extra bit of side income for me; you can read about this in my blog post, ‘How to make money…

    How to make money blogging

    16/03/2020

In a time where everyone wants to make a quick buck, I see a lot of new bloggers popping up to write about travel in a bid to earn money blogging. I’ve been blogging for years now, and it’s only recently that my site has started making a monthly income and, even then, we’re not talking huge amounts! I often tell people that it’s very possible to get paid to blog, however, the amount of time you dedicate to this will ultimately affect your success. In this post I’ll cover some of the main ways to make money from blogging, though I warn you now, this will never be a…

How to get featured on Instagram

    18/03/2018

Getting your IG profile featured on a large Instagram account can be a great tool for growing your own followers. People who are clicking through to you from another account are more likely to be genuinely interested in your content. They tend to remain loyal to your Instagram following list, and as a result, will often to be more engaged with you than a bot following. Each week, I support one of the larger Instagram travel accounts; choosing images for features, captioning images, interacting with followers, searching for new accounts to follow, and responding to queries. They get hundreds of people tagging them for a feature each week, with only…

The stones at Kilmartin Kirkyard are one of the most important collections of West Highland sculpture in the country.

In total, there are actually 79 ancient graveslabs (one exception being a side-slab for a tomb chest), with the earliest stones dating from the 13th century!

To protect them from weathering, many have been moved into dedicated enclosures, like the one in this video.

While other spots like Iona Abbey boast significant collections. Kilmartin Church has the largest collection of stones carved in this particular West Highland Style.

Make this part of a wider visit to Kilmartin Museum, who have over 22,000 prehistoric artifacts in their collection. The neighbouring Glebe Cairn is thought to be between 3000 & 5000 years old!
