Things to do in Bangkok on a rainy day? I’m never short of new things to try in Thailand’s’ capital. It feels like every time I fly in there’s a ton of new bars, exhibits, malls, and activities to try. 2025 is no exception. If you find yourself in Bangkok before April 30, 2025, there’s an experience you really shouldn’t miss: the Louis Vuitton Visionary Journeys Exhibition.
Nestled in the heart of the city, a mere skip from the Chit Lom BTS on the central Sukhumvit line, this interactive exhibition is a colourful journey through 150 years of Louis Vuitton’s creativity. Not a designer fan? Quite honestly, I don’t think it matters! The experience is heavily focused around photo moments and a deep-dive into the history of the designer’s journey – a promising mix, regardless of how you feel about the brand.

Is LV Visionary Journey free?
Yes! It sure is. I couldn’t quite believe it myself – especially when so many of these digital exhibits in Bangkok come at a cost. Louis Vuitton Visionary Journeys tickets are free, but you do need to book a time slot in advance (I booked mine on the Thursday, for a Saturday lunchtime showing). You can get more booking info and your free tickets here at the LV The Place Bangkok website.
Where is LV The Place Bangkok?
Louis Vuitton has multiple stores across Bangkok (the city loves its shopping!), but this one is located on the ground floor of Gaysorn Amarin at 496-502 Ploenchit Road. As noted above, it sits just next to the popular Chit Lom BTS station and (beyond the exhibition), visitors can reserve a seat at the in-house café and restaurant, both curated by Chef Gaggan Anand. I didn’t make a reservation – while they offer soy and oat milk alternatives for coffees, I couldn’t get a firm answer on whether their cakes were vegan (they offer a Thai mango tart that has the potential to be!)
You can find the LV The Place Cafe Menu here

What to expect from the Visionary Journeys Exhibition
I’d already seen snippets of the exhibition on Instagram and TikTok before heading down there, so I was expecting slick rooms and cool photo opportunities from their Creative team. The operation was slick; you enter via a well-signposted queue system just as you enter the ground floor of Gaysorn Amarin mall. When I checked in, there were multiple team members waiting to greet me, scan my ticket, and escort me inside.
As they celebrate the launch of Louis Vuitton x Murakami, the Visionary Journeys Exhibition provides a walk (quite literally) through Louis Vuitton’s rich heritage and innovative spirit. The experience is divided into four thematic zones – Trunkscape, Origins, Icons, and Collaborations – each segment offering a unique glimpse into the brand’s evolution. A quick overview …
- Trunkscape: A wow moment that brings you into the exhibition. Your journey begins here as you step through the doors and into an impressive tunnel crafted from 96 vintage Louis Vuitton trunks, enhanced by dynamic, colour-changing digital screens. It’s worth noting that this zone becomes congested fast as everyone scrambles to get their solo selfies in the tunnel. My advice, loop back once it’s calmed down.
- Origins: Delve into Louis Vuitton’s storied past with a showcase of rare luggage pieces. Fun fact: the brand once offered a collection of bed trunks, merging functionality with luxury in the most elegant way.
- Icons: This bubble-themed zone is a nostalgic trip down memory lane, highlighting some of the brand’s most iconic bags. Remember that gold handbag from the 2000s? It’s here, reminding us of the fashion moments that had us all captivated.
- Collaborations: The journey culminates in a room adorned with 360-degree screens, celebrating Louis Vuitton’s dynamic collaborations with renowned artists and labels. It’s a vibrant testament to the brand’s commitment to artistic synergy.

I heard you get a Louis Vuitton souvenir at the end of LV Visionary Journeys?
As you finish the tour, you’ll find yourself in a multicolored mirror room. With the assistance of one of the LV team, an interactive screen offers a surprise: a complimentary souvenir to commemorate your visit. I heard that when this first launched, some lucky winners won a Louis Vuitton bag – but I think those days are long gone. The friends I was with both received a limited-edition LV postcard pack. I was lucky enough to collect a pack of branded Louis Vuitton pencils (I didn’t see anyone else win these whilst we were in the experience.)

What is the dress code for Louis Vuitton Cafe Bangkok and the LV Visionary Journeys Exhibition?
Their comms highlight that the dress code for Le Café Louis Vuitton in Bangkok is smart casual. The store and cafe request that visitors dress in a way that matches the cafe’s luxurious feel. I went along in smart/casual tress trousers, a knighted sleeveless tops, and Nike trainers. Jeans, khakis, dress shirts, and dress shoes are all acceptable.
What’s not allowed:
Slippers, beach sandals, and flip-flops
Sleeveless attire for men
Shorts
Open shoes
Hats
Sportswear
Plan your visit with Louis Vuitton Bangkok
